The Idea is Simple: 2 hours/week x 50 weeks/year x 10,000 people = 1 million hours community service in celebration of Obama's victory.
Yes we can. Yes we will.

The Idea is Simple
Barack Obama is the President-elect of the United States. In honor of this amazing acheivement, and in celebration of his vision for America, I hope to gather 10,000 people to commit to two hours/week of community service, for 50 weeks of 2009, thereby aggregating 1 million hours of service in celebration of this accomplishment. I hope you'll join me.

I will continue to volunteer at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House in Chatham, Cape Cod. Like all Unitarian churches the Meeting House is dedicated to a broad range of national and community social causes. We stand for mutual assistance, peace, and justice. Our educational programs for adults and youngsters reflect these values, as does out designation as a Welcoming Church. I average 7 hours a week.
The Idea: To celebrate Obama's victory by taking action in our own communities.
The Goal: 2 hours/week x 50 weeks in 2009 x 10,000 people = 1 million hours of community service in celebration of Obama's historic victory and his (and our) hopeful vision for America.
